Thailand:Regulator releases data on insurance agents and brokers for 1H2025

Data the insurance regulator of Thailand, the Office of the Insurance Commission (OIC) has released on insurance agents and brokers for 1H2025 shows an increase in fourth-year license renewals.

According to the OIC, this reflects confidence in the profession. At the same time, the regulator is encouraging agents and brokers to register in the e-Licensing system and the “ForSure Middleman” application in order to verify information, and have their licenses verified by the public to promote transparency and prevent fraud.

Statistics on applications and renewals of insurance agent and broker licenses during 1H2025 show a total of 129,606 applications and renewals, a 0.73% rise from the same period last year. The figure can be broken down into 46,987 new license applications, comprising 32,907 life insurance agents, 1,474 non-life insurance agents, 5,499 life insurance brokers and 7,107 non-life insurance brokers.

A total of 85,807 license renewals were filed for insurance agents and brokers.

At the same time, a significant number of professionals remain in the insurance market for the long-term, shown by renewals for the fourth or subsequent periods, with over 21,818.
