APAC:Japanese and Australian export credit agencies renew partnership

| 17 Mar 2026

Nippon Export and Investment Insurance (NEXI) has entered into a reinsurance agreement with Export Finance Australia (EFA), the export credit agency of Australia.

The agreement was formalised during a signing ceremony held on 13 March at NEXI's headquarters in Tokyo, attended by NEXI President and CEO Atsuro Kuroda and EFA Managing Director and CEO John Hopkins.

The newly concluded agreement renews the One-Stop-Shop Reinsurance Agreement originally signed in 2005, with updates aimed at improving the efficiency and convenience of reinsurance operations. The arrangement is designed to support exports to third countries and facilitate business collaboration between Japanese and Australian companies.

Going forward, NEXI said it will continue working with export credit agencies in other countries to support the overseas expansion of Japanese businesses.
