Asia: ACR announces new chief
Mr Hans-Peter Gerhardt has been named to succeed Mr John Tan as Group Chief Executive, ACR Capital Holdings and Chief Executive of Asia Capital Re. Mr John Tan, who retired on health grounds, has been retained as Founder and Senior Advisor to the Board.
 
 
ACE announces new appointments in Japan and Singapore
Mr Hiroya Takagi has joined ACE Group as Political Risk & Credit Manager and will helm the expansion of the company’s political risk and credit division to Japan. He will be based in Tokyo. Meanwhile, Ms Tanya Kiew has joined the insurer as Head of Direct Marketing, Singapore.
 
 
Antares joins Lloyd’s Asia platform
Ms Li Shan Yeo has been appointed Chief Executive Officer for Antares Asia and will lead the new offering on the Lloyd’s Asia platform, based in Singapore. The new business had obtained the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS)’s and Lloyd’s Asia’s approval to begin underwriting from 1 November 2015.
 
 
Asia: Aegon Direct & Affinity Marketing Services unveils regional President
Mr Richard Ng has been appointed to the role of President, Aegon Direct & Affinity Marketing Services (ADAMS) Asia Pacific, overseeing all of ADAMS businesses throughout the region. He succeeds Mr David Skinner who has retired to his home in the US. Mr Ng has over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry spanning a range of professional functions and is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
 
 
Crawford & Company names new APAC CEO
Mr Andrew Bart has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer for Asia Pacific, Crawford & Company. Prior to the appointment, he was Crawford CEO, Pacific.
 
 
Asia: Cunningham Lindsey appoints regional head of forensic advisory services
Global loss adjusting and claim management company Cunningham Lindsey, has appointed Ms Adrienne Kouwenhoven as Partner and Head of Asia of Forensic Advisory Services (FAS), an independent division that specialises in the quantification of business interruption and financial losses relating to insurance claims, as well as providing litigation support and expert witness services. 
 
   She will lead the FAS business in Asia, servicing both insurance and legal clients across the region. In addition, she will drive the expansion of FAS’ business in the region, working closely with Cunningham Lindsey’s Major and Complex Loss team. 
 
 
Australia: XL Catlin announces head of crisis management
Ms Shelley Devane has been appointed Head of Crisis Management, Australia at XL Catlin and will lead a team delivering a suite of crisis management solutions including product recall, kidnap, ransom & extortion, and war, terrorism and political violence.
 
   She is joined by Mr Des Partridge who joined legacy Catlin’s Sydney operation in 2010 and over the last two years has increasingly focused on underwriting crisis management lines for clients in Australia with both domestic and global exposures. 
 
   Ms Lisa Hiscock who has London market and regional experience in war, terrorism and political violence as well as kidnap, ransom & extortion insurance also joined the team. She has worked for Hiscox for over three years in a variety of roles, and had joined the team from Aon Benfield, Sydney.
 
 
Australia: BHSI expands into marine, transport & logistics liability
Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance Company (BHSI) has started underwriting Marine, Transport & Logistics Liability Insurance in Australia and New Zealand, and has appointed Mr Barton Phillips as Head of Transport and Logistics, and Ms Laetitia Roney as Manager of Transport & Logistics Liability Insurance. Both are based in Brisbane.
 
 
Japan: Zurich Insurance appoints new CEO and representative
Mr Masachika Nishiura has been named CEO Japan and Representative for Japan, Zurich Insurance, effective 1 January 2016. He succeeds Mr Akira Kitazawa, current CEO Japan and Representative for Japan, who retires at the end of this year.
 
 
Singapore: HDI-Gerling Industrie Versicherung AG expands team
Mr Moey Park Moon has joined HDI-Gerling Industrie Versicherung AG Singapore Branch as Senior Risk Engineer. In his role, he will provide technical advisory and support to the underwriting team in industrial insurance with respect to larger industrial risks covering property, engineering and liability whilst at the same time helping clients on risk improvements and risk mitigation, as well as enhancing their risk management programmes for mutual benefits.  
 
 
AIG unveils several new appointments including first-ever global head of cyber
Ms Tracie Grella has been appointed Global Head of Cyber for AIG’s commercial insurance business. Along with her appointment, Mr Madhu Tadikonda has been named Commercial Chief Underwriting Officer, succeeding Mr Tim Carter who moved on to assume the role of President, Portfolio Solutions. Ms Donna DeMaio has been appointed President, Credit Lines. 
 
   All three roles of Global Head of Cyber and Presidents of Credit Lines and Portfolio Solutions are newly-established. Ms Grella will report to Mr James Shea, President, Financial Lines, while Mr Tadikonda, Mr Carter and Ms DeMaio will report to AIG Commercial Insurance CEO John Doyle.
 
   Meanwhile, Mr Scott Judy has been promoted to Head of Casualty for Hong Kong and Macau at AIG Hong Kong, and will report to Ms Penny Seach, Head of Casualty, Asia Pacific and Mr Rudi Spaan, President & CEO, AIG Hong Kong.
 
 
Aspen announces leadership appointments
Mr David Cohen has been appointed President and Chief Underwriting Officer for Aspen Insurance. He also joins Aspen’s group executive team and reports to Aspen Insurance CEO Mario Vitale. Meanwhile, Mr Yann Marmonier has been appointed Principal Officer and Managing Director for Aspen Group’s insurance segment entry into Singapore through Aspen’s Lloyd’s syndicate on the Lloyd’s Asia platform, effective 1 January 2016. Mr Paul Hackett has been appointed Head of Marine for Aspen Insurance in Singapore.
 
 
ArgoGlobal makes senior appointments
Mr David Lang has been named Chief Operating Officer of ArgoGlobal reporting to Mr David Harris, Managing Director of ArgoGlobal. Mr Lang brings nearly three decades of industry experience to his new role. He joins from Lloyd’s where he served most recently as Chief Data Officer. 
 
   Mr Yan Jun has been named Marine Underwriting Manager of ArgoGlobal Underwriting Division, Lloyd’s China. In his new role, he reports to Mr James Miao, Director of Underwriting.
 
 
Global: DUAL appoints interim CEO
Mr Talbir Bains will take over from Mr Shane Doyle as interim CEO of DUAL, Hyperion Insurance Group’s underwriting arm. Mr Doyle will leave the company to pursue an independent venture, following a handover to Mr Bains.
Mr Bains joined DUAL in March this year from QBE where he had held senior roles for more than a decade. Meanwhile, Mr Clem Booth, a former Allianz board member, has also joined DUAL earlier this month as Non-Executive Chairman to provide strategic direction to the Board.
 
 
Global: IIS Board elects Stephen Catlin as Vice-Chairman
Mr Stephen Catlin, Executive Deputy Chairman of XL Group plc, has been elected Vice Chairman of the International Insurance Society’s (IIS) Board of Directors. He was the founder and the sole CEO of Catlin Group Limited, a Bermuda-based (re)insurer established in 1985.
 
 
Global: Bellwood Prestbury appoints medical director
Dr Charlie Easmon has joined specialist global insurance intermediary Bellwood Prestbury as the company’s medical director. A well-known and respected private medical industry figure, he has worked with a growing number of FT100 companies, government organisations including the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), international charities and global insurers. Dr Easmon is currently President of the 100 member International Association of Physicians for the Overseas Services (IAPOS). 
 
 
Clyde & Co expands global marine team
Mr Andrew Gray will be joining global law firm Clyde & Co as a Partner in the global Marine team in early 2016. He has extensive experience as a shipping lawyer in Asia, with specialist expertise in marine insurance and wet matters.
 
 
Global: Hansard International bolsters sales distribution team
Long term savings and investments provider Hansard International has made a number of key appointments to its sales and marketing team. Mr Norrie Little has been appointed as Sales Development Manager to support the company’s desire to grow its relationships with its IFAs, expand into new territories and to maximise the value of its existing customer base.
 
   Mr Tommy So has been named Head of Business Development, mainly responsible for IFA distribution across Northeast Asia; Mr Ed Alderson has been appointed Sales Development Manager for Latin America, focusing on nurturing new and existing distribution partners across Central and South America; and Mr Michael Wrigley has joined the company as Head of Sales for Southeast Asia. 
 
   Ms Maria Santodomingo Lorente has also joined the team as Account Executive, Existing Business.
