Global:Manulife announces new leadership

| 27 Nov 2025

Manulife has appointed Ms Bonnie Qiu as CEO, Global High-Net-Worth and Chief Partnership Distribution Officer, Asia, effective 1 December 2025; and Mr Lau Ming as CFO of Asia, effective May 2026.

In her expanded remit, Ms Qiu, who is currently Chief Distribution Officer for Asia, will also provide strategic leadership for the Asia Segment’s high-net-worth (HNW) business focussing on life insurance solutions to deliver on HNW customer needs, while also continuing to lead partnership distribution across the region, including bancassurance, international brokerage and digital channels.

As part of the transition, Ms Qiu will collaborate with Ms Jean Wong, who will retire in 2Q2026 as current CEO of GHNW after nearly three decades of service at Manulife, to ensure transition and continuity.

As part of these changes, Mr Rishi Srivastava, Chief Agency Officer, Asia, will join Manulife Asia’s senior leadership team. Mr Srivastava has been instrumental in advancing Manulife’s agency transformation strategy, with a strong focus on training and development, quality recruitment and cultivating top-tier leaders and agents, while championing new technologies to drive productivity and efficiency.

Mr Lau brings nearly 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. He is recognised for his broad leadership experience and ability to drive transformation across complex finance organisations, and most recently served as CFO for HSBC Asia Pacific and the Middle East.

Mr Lau’s expertise spans financial and regulatory reporting, treasury, investor relations, tax, financial planning and analysis, as well as business finance.
