Metlife completes China's first-ever life company merger

Sino-US United MetLife Insurance (MetLife) has announced the successful completion in China of the merger of its two joint ventures - Sino-US MetLife and United MetLife. The merger, completed on Thursday, is the first-ever in the Chinese life insurance sector. MetLife received approval from the China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC) last month and from the State Administration for Industry and Commerce on 12 April.
