Mr Werner Bugl, a member of the Executive Committee of Ultimate Risk Solutions (URS), has passed. He served URS for more than 12 years, having begun his tenure in 2013.
Under his leadership, URS realised a global cooperation with Howden, announced in 2024.
He also served Russian Reinsurance as a member of the company's international advisory board.
VIG Re Managing Director Marc Haushofer said, “Mr Bugl operated for around 50 years in Asia and belongs to a small group of Western industry leaders with long-standing and legendary impact on the region.
“He is someone who deserves a post-mortem lifetime award for his courage and will to innovate and strengthen any business under his charge.”
