The Singapore Reinsurers' Association (SRA) has announced Berkley Re CEO APAC Mr Glen Riddell as its new Chair, following the announcement of PartnerRe CEO Mr James Beedle's retirement.
Mr Riddell will assume the role on 1 July.
The SRA has also named its new office bearers:
- Deputy Chair: Lloyd’s CEO, APAC, Middle East and Africa, Ms Emma Loynes
- Secretary: Munich Re Managing Director, Non-life SEA, Mr Michael Hauer
- Treasurer: SCOR CEO APAC Mr Mukul Kishore
“As we welcome our new leadership team, we also extend our sincere appreciation to Mr James Beedle for his outstanding contributions to SRA and the wider reinsurance community,” the Association said, in its official statement.
Mr Beedle served on the SRA Executive Committee for many years, and played a pivotal role in advancing the Association’s education initiative. As the Convenor of the Education Sub-Committee from 2017 to 2024, he championed talent development and professional learning across the industry. He subsequently served as Deputy Chair from 2024 to 2026 before assuming the role of Chair in 2026.
“We look forward to the leadership of our new office bearers as SRA continues to support and grow Singapore’s reinsurance ecosystem,” SRA said.
