The cost of regulatory compliance is a constant bane for insurers, who have been very vocal on the issue. Most companies said they would prefer to be self-regulated, although this concept itself is ambiguous as both regulators and the industry have not aligned expectations on the form this should take. We asked the six regulators their thoughts on self-regulation and corporate governance.
