Japan’s first online life insurer, Lifenet Insurance, is not only selling its products at about 30-50% cheaper than other insurers. It is also blazing a trail with a business model that uses the internet as its main distribution channel and its marketing and operating platform, chiefly targeting young customers. Mr Haruaki Deguchi, Lifenet’s President, and Mr Daisuke Iwase, Executive Vice President, share how they attract these young customers to an age-old product.
