Liberty, part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, has appointed Ms Cynthia Sze as CEO, Hong Kong, effective May 2026 and subject to regulatory approval.
In her new role, Ms Sze will lead Liberty’s unified Hong Kong business following the integration of its operations under a single licence, proposed to be effective on 1 April 2026. The unification brings together Liberty’s personal, commercial and specialty insurance capabilities in the market, creating a stronger, more integrated platform to serve agents, brokers, clients and partners across Hong Kong.
Ms Sze brings more than 25 years of insurance industry experience across Hong Kong and North Asia. She is recognised for building high-performing teams, delivering disciplined underwriting outcomes and strengthening long-term broker and client relationships. Her focus will be on unifying teams, sharpening market execution and accelerating sustainable growth.
The integration also marks a leadership transition. Mr Eddie Young, Vice President and Chief Executive of Liberty Specialty Markets, and Ms Cynthia Leung, Finance Leader of Liberty Insurance, will leave Liberty at the end of July following completion of the unification.
