AIA Bhd has appointed Mr Heng Zee Wang as CEO. In his new role, Mr Heng will lead AIA's life insurance and other business entities in Malaysia by strengthening its position as a market leader and driving the company's continued expansion and transformation.
Mr Heng joined AIA in 2012 and has been instrumental in driving the company’s growth. He played a pivotal role in the successful integration of ING Malaysia following its acquisition. Over the years, he has served as deputy general manager of finance and actuarial, CMO and chief healthcare officer.
Mr Heng has 30 years of experience working across functions and in different markets such as Singapore, UK, Hong Kong and Korea. He has a bachelor of science (honours) in actuarial science and is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, UK.
Mr Heng succeeds Mr Ben Ng, who has assumed the role of group CRO designate in AIA. Mr Ng will assume the role of group CRO from 1 January 2026, subject to regulatory approvals.
Following Mr Heng’s appointment as CEO, Ms Tung Hsiao Ley will also take on an expanded role as chief corporate solutions and healthcare officer.
In this capacity, Ms Tung will drive high-quality growth of the corporate solutions business and lead the development and execution of the integrated healthcare strategy, strengthening AIA’s healthcare offerings and reinforcing its commitment to affordable, accessible and effective healthcare across Malaysia.
