India:Life insurers' new-business premiums soar by 38% in April-Sep period to US$22bn

Life insurance companies in India posted aggregate new-business premium income of INR1.82tn ($22bn) for the April-to-September period, which was the first half of the current financial year ending 31 March 2023 (1HFY2023). The figure represents a surge of 38% compared to the corresponding period in 2021.
